Construction on the Theater’s parking garage and the Progress Energy Arts Plaza between the Mahaffey Theater and the Salvador Dali Museum is now underway!
Please note that the elevator in the garage is completely shut down as is the stairwell on the corner of the garage nearest to the theater. Additional handicapped parking will be made available.
Please allow yourself extra time to deal with traffic and parking due to this construction.

Directions & Parking
The Progress Energy Center for the Art's Mahaffey Theater is located in the heart of beautiful Downtown St. Petersburg, on the water's edge overlooking Tampa Bay within walking distance to unique shops, fine dining, and renowned cultural museums. The Theater is easily accessible from both the Tampa International Airport and the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Airport, and is just a short drive from world famous beaches, professional sports arenas, and a myriad of outdoor recreational activities.
DRIVING DIRECTIONSTo arrive to the Theater from the NORTH (from TAMPA) or from the SOUTH (from SARASOTA), take INTERSTATE 275 directly into St. Petersburg. Exit on INTERSTATE 175-EXIT 22 and continue to its end. Exit 22/I-175 ends at a traffic light;
proceed forward 4 traffic lights. The fourth light is 1st Street. Turn left on 1st Street, the Theater will be on your right hand side.
The facility sits on First Street South between 4th Avenue South and 5th Avenue South. For the BOX OFFICE, turn right into the second gate marked GATE 1. The Theater LOADING DOCK will be just ahead. Park in LOT "A" for dock access.

We suggest arriving at least thirty minutes before show time. As a courtesy to the performers and audience, latecomers are only seated at the management's discretion.
